The first time I laid eyes on May Lindstrom I was really impressed – she has beautiful skin!

Skin can be a full time job for women. We strive for a pure complexion in addition to maintaining a rosy and healthy glow. After seeing her, I immediately found myself wanting to look like May. Inspired by her glowing appearance, I decided to test a product from her line and opted for The Clean Dirt.

The Clean Dirt is a scrub and is sold without having been prepared yet. Instead, it comes as a powder in a black bottle. Personally, I like the design a lot – a jar of Clean Dirt is not something you’d hide in your bathroom. For those who aesthetically value great packaging, May Lindstrom’s products are well advised. To prepare the scrub, sprinkle a bit of the powder in either your hand or a bowl and then add a bit of water to it.

In this video you can watch May herself mix the Clean Dirt very elegantly. Let’s just say, I didn’t come off looking quite as elegant myself.

The trick is to really only use a few drops of water to mix with the powder. If you’re water to powder ratio is right, you end up with a smooth paste.

Handling the Clean Dirt might feel a little strange at first, but after a few tries you’ll get the hang of it.

The first thing I noticed about the product was the scent: It smelled incredibly good, like a refined blend of spices such as cinnamon, turmeric, and I even detected some cocoa. The mixture doesn’t just smell very pleasant, but also helps the skin to detoxify in a natural way.
The main ingredients are Moroccan Rhassoul clay, sea salt and vitamin C. This mixture has the effect of ridding the skin of dead skin cells, stimulating blood circulation and promoting cell regeneration.

I used this scrub as a mask, since it seemed a bit of a waste for me to remove the product immediately after applying it.So, after having applied the paste, I let it sit on my face for about half an hour. (I was feeling very generous that day.)
The next step was wetting my hands and gently washing the scrub of my face. My skin looked a lot cleaner and clearer compared to how it usually does – I could definitely see the difference.

Conclusion: Since this first trial, I use The Clean Dirt once a week, preferably on Sunday. It has become my little luxury ritual. Since the product is very potent and you need only very little of it each time, the seemingly high price is more than worth it in my opinion.
