Bright Lights, Big City

Hello to all dear AMAZINGY-Fans!

My name is Sabine, an original Austrian import, and I work as a make-up artist. Last summer I had the chance to meet the lovely owners and founders of Amazingy in Berlin – we hit it off immediately and now I’m lucky to call myself the latest addition to the Amazingy-Family 🙂

I was so thrilled to see the incredible range of  products that Amazingy stocks, that I couldn’t wait to do my first shoot with them. Luckily I didn’t have to wait for a long time, and it was so much fun – not only due to the bottles of champagne Floris opened –  that we decided to regularly provide you with photo shoots and tutorials, for which I will of course exclusively use products from Amazingy. I will also try to make the shoots into tutorials, by adding a neat, easy to follow description of the products I used and how I applied them. I hope you will learn something along the way! So… here we go. My first shoot for Amazingy with wonderful model Lex Olsen.

Before applying foundation I used Dr. Alkaitis Day Cream on Lex’s face. This is an important step when working with powdery products because they can make your skin flaky around the nose and cheeks – not very sexy! 😉
Since Lex has a very fair skin tone I chose HIRO Mineral Foundation Porcelain and mixed it in two different ways: 1st with Dr. Alkaitis Nourishing Treatment Oil and 2nd with Dr. Alkaitis Day Cream.

I applied the first mix (Porcelain + Dr. Alkaitis Nourishing Treatment Oil) on all highlighted areas (forehead, bridge of the nose, chin, above the cheek bones) so the make-up seems more lively and natural. The Beautyblender is a great tool for applying foundation – I simply used twisting movements to work the mix into the skin. The second mix (Porcelain + Dr. Alkaitis Day Cream), is basically a matte version of the oil mix, which I applied evenly to the rest of the face. Dark eye shadows disappear easily by stippling rms ‘un’cover up Nr. 11 onto the area under the eyes.

To keep the look around the eyes natural I only used rms Cream Eye Shadow Lunar and completely went without mascara.

Lex’s beautiful full lips are accentuated by ILIA Beauty’s Ink Pot. Can I just say… Wow!?If there ever was a lipstick reminiscent of a wild night out in the city, it’s this almost entirely organic, gorgeous purple violett lipstick  from ILIA, which slides on easily and feels as comfortable as a lipbalm! Not everybody would dare to wear this colour, but it sure does look great on Lex, doesn’t it?

Enjoy Spring!
