PCA, short for pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, is a hydrating agent naturally occuring in healthy skin at about 12%. With age this drops.
Zinc PCA is the zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid.
It combines the hydrating features of Sodium PCA with highly antibacterial properties. It regulates sebum production effectively making it ideal for blemished, unclear and acne skin or greasy and flaky scalps.
It is used in creams, toners, shampoo or hair tonic.
Added to deodorants Zinc PCA helps reducing body odour by bonding with fatty acids that normally produce odours and turning them into odourless salts.
