Blue Tansy is a little flower, mostly seen in Morocco. It's beautiful blue essential oil is packed with anti-oxidants.
It gets its beautiful blue colour through the process of steam distilling the flower into oil, which is blue because of its high chamazulene content.
Because of its calming properties, Tanacetum Annuum Flower Oil - which is Blue Tansy's inci name - can mostly be found in products that help fighting acne, eczema and/or ageing.
One of the most famous products containing blue tansy, is May Lindstrom's "The Blue Cocoon".
Blue tansy is also believed to help relieve an itchy scalp as a result from ie. dandruff.
Tanacetum annuum (blue tansy) flower oil can be used as an alternative to German Chamomile. It has a calming, fresh, complex, somewhat sweet, slightly floral aroma that reminds many people of the smell of apples. with a bit of herbs.
