The clutch contains the six most popular Soapwalla products in trial size:

Restorative Face Serum, 7ml

Luxurious Body Oil, 30ml

Deodorant Cream, 15ml

Almond Luxe Body Polish, 60ml

Hand and Body Wash, 30ml

Essential Facial Toning Mist, 30ml

Instead of my usual face water and soap I had to rely on the Soapwalla products, and leave all other things at home. The skin care line of Soapwalla is suitable for all skin types, so I didn’t expect any troubles there. Besides, trying out products while being on holiday is not exactly hard work.

From head…

In the mornings and evenings, after cleansing (for which I use the great konjac sponge in pink), I first applied the Essential Facial Toning Mist and then afterwards the serum. The mist contains hydrating rose water and soothing extracts of calendula and witch hazel. It cleans and tightens pores and refreshes the tired complexion – also in between applications. The scent might be something to get used to, but I’m a fan of sprayable face waters in general, especially during the summer. If you use the mist as a toner, you won’t even need a cotton pad.

The Restorative Face Serum contains rosehip seed oil, the latest craze when it comes to skin care. This oil is rich in vitamins A and E and makes a potent anti-aging skin care product.
Carrot seed oil firms the skin, evening primrose oil soothes skin irritations, while almond, apricot and sea buckthorn oil supply the skin with moisture and soothe eczema and rosacea. After only two applications I noticed that my skin looked fresh, free from all blemishes. I assume that the sea breeze must have contributed to my skin clearing up as well.
Normally, I use jojoba oil for my facial care and I can confirm that the Soapwalla Face Serum gets quickly absorbed and leaves no greasy film behind.
After the serum I applied a bit of the Hiro Mineral Foundation, mixed together to get a nurturing BB cream with SPF 30.

…to toe

I’ve already been using Soapwalla’s Deodorant Cream for a year now, and am thrilled about it. There is no other product alike on the market, so this natural deodorant is no longer a secret. After an initial aversiveness to deodorant cremes, I was quickly convinced about this one: the pits remain relatively dry thanks to the clays it contains. Extracts of lavender, peppermint and tea tree keep bacteria at bay and provide a minty fresh scent. The deodorant is made without any type of aluminum salts, and is therefore indeed an anti-deodorant, but not an anti-perspirant. With previous use, when I used the deodorant immediately after shaving, I had no skin irritations. However, everyone needs to try and test that for themselves.
A tiny amount of cream will last for an entire day, although you might need to get an extra dab during the summer. An intriguing image on Soapwalla’s website reveals that soon there will be a new variant brought out, containing citrus. Yay!
What the boyfriends said: Even with manly hairy armpits the deo works it’s magic. The floury consitency is a little bit unusal but all in all this product is a great alternative to my spray-deo.

The Hand and Body Wash is more of a 3-in-1 type of product. It can be used as soap, shower gel or shampoo. The blend of mild ingredients cleans without destroying the skins natural barrier, while lavender and eucalyptus soothe and relieve muscle tension. I used the product as a shower gel: It got me clean, and made me smell deliciously good.

After the Body Wash, I was pleasantly surprised by the Almond Lux Body Polish. This scrub consists of coarse cane sugar mixed with almond oil and spices, smells like Amaretto and immediately made me crave tiramisu. I applied the scrub while showering and as expected, my skin was left feeling beautifully soft and smooth. However, the product is not suitable for scrubing the face, since the sugar is too rough for the delicate facial skin. For a gentle facial scrub I would recommend monthly enzyme peels without abrasive particles, as well as a daily, gentle cleansing massage with a konjac sponge.

[row]
[column size=”1/2″] [/column]
[column size=”1/2″]

After all the scrubbing it was time to get up oiled up! The Luxurious Body Oil contains jojoba, sunflower and grapeseed oil and Mowrah butter – ingredients that are all suitable for every skin type, providing the skin with moisture and at the same time locking the moisture in. The essential oils of ginger, lemon and lemongrass give this oil a fresh and invigorating scent. The small pump bottle is great for getting out the right dosage without turning your bathroom into an oily mess.

Not just feeling clean, but also neat and tidy and in good spirits, it was time for a walk on the beach promenade – sea air and seagulls squawking, and all was good in the world. I can warmly recommened the Soap Walla Tasting Menu to anyone who’s planning to take a trip.
