The complete quote is: “Beauty will save the world.”

\u2013 and comes from Fyodor Dostoevsky,

originally: “Krasota spaset mir.”

He was fascinated by the phenomenon of beauty throughout his life;

he also referred to these words in his other works.

And in the end, this saying does not mean anything to me personally, rather

that the concept of beauty can be applied to something like the Cardinal virtues.

The cardinal virtues have always changed a bit

culturally through the centuries\/millennia. But in mutable proportions of meaning,

one always finds values like wisdom, courage, piety, contentment, gentleness,

love, and further, charity.

But strangely enough, beauty is almost never there.

And for me \u2013 considering the individual virtues \u2013

beauty is always superior,

because\u2026 what is wisdom, if not the beauty of understanding?

What is courage, if not the beauty of one’s character?

Or love is the beauty of dealing with one another.

And once you think this through as a concept,

you realize that beauty can indeed save the world.

What do you recommend as a first step to incorporate sustainable changes in everyday life?

When I started sharing my experiences with a more sustainable, healthy lifestyle \u2013

What people are most likely to ask is: “Where do I start?”

Because if you have not really come to terms with it,

It seems interesting in the beginning, but at a second glance you notice very quickly \u2013

indeed, very quickly \u2013 that it can suddenly become quite complicated\u2026

Things pile up and this overwhelming feeling can come to pass.

And that’s why I say, for example, to the question \u2013 “Where do I start?”

\u2013 I like to say:

start with the things that are most important to you,

or where you can have the most influence.

For example, if someone is a hobby chef, then it’s a good idea to start in the kitchen \u2013

buy sustainable products, try to achieve zero waste,

eliminate disposable plastic products from your purchases, and so on \u2013

cook regionally and seasonally.

This is already a giant step with which you will influence other people.

Or\u2026 that which may not be important to you, but what you do professionally

\u2013 what you do most often.

So for example, in technology: we have all this technology in the office;

how can we make this a little more sustainable?

How could we use less paper? And so on.

Of course, this is different for everyone.

Where you enter \u2013 into the world of sustainability \u2013 can be very small.

But if you are really serious about doing it \u2013

and here is the secret, as with everything else in life \u2013 just stick with it.

If you stick to it, you will notice that you are walking in a spiral.

If you’re cooking more sustainably \u2013 to stay with the example \u2013

then you will suddenly realize: “I need more sustainable textiles” \u2013 for example,

sustainable books, sustainable furniture, and so on.

It will always come back in circles.

In other words, someday you will want to make other areas of your life more sustainable.

That’s why it does not really matter where you start.

The main thing is to stay with it\u2026 and also to go beyond this idea \u2013

one baby step every month is enough. Just keep on going with it.

That’s why there can’t be a blueprint.

We have different priorities, living out different scenarios \u2013

with family and work, etc.

Which means there isn’t an example to lead with.

What do you “geek out about” at the moment (or what fascinates you) regarding technological advancements?

Well, there is so much happening\u2026

what fascinates me\u2026 there’s really so much.

I find the debate we have about privacy very fascinating.

“Data ownership”\u2026

I’m fascinated by the possibilities we have with 3D printing \u2013

which may eventually revolutionize the industry, as well.

Basically everything fascinates me since the Internet came into being \u2013

since the internet became available to people.

What actually fascinates me\u2026 I am fascinated by the different ways

how I could make creative processes faster, more efficient

or different \u2013 more surprising.

And how can I connect people?

These are the two aspects that have always fascinated me about the technology and\u2026

that’s where it seems to stay. The development of how we “connect” \u2013 the development of

our creativity, and but of course also
