The slipper season is upon us <\/span><\/span><\/span>and,<\/span><\/span><\/span> a<\/span><\/span><\/span>s such, we would like to introduce you to the Berlin-based company Lieblinge<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0a designer of shoes and slippers for adults and children.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What you’ll love most about them <\/span><\/span><\/span>is that t<\/span><\/span><\/span>heir shoes are eco-friendly and <\/span><\/span><\/span>are <\/span><\/span><\/span>produced with consistently low emissions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All of the materials used by <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Lieblinge<\/em> comply with the highest environmental standards and are completely harmless to nature. The production of their shoes takes place exclusively in manufacturing <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>sites<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> in Berlin, allowing their products to proudly display “Made in Germany” on the label.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You’ll see just how easy it is to go the extra mile when you have your Lieblinge on \u2014 besides the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>fact that the shoes are environmentally friendly<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, sustainable<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0made only from leather that has been produced with incredibly low emission rates<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, they are also ergonomically designed.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

The design is inspired by the expertise & craftsmanship of Nadine Klein, and her passion is sewn into every fabric of the company. <\/span><\/span><\/span>A<\/span><\/span>fter training as an orthopedic and industrial shoe technician, she founded Lieblinge<\/em> in 2004 with her husband Oliver Klein, <\/span><\/span><\/span>though it was<\/span><\/span><\/span> first <\/span><\/span><\/span>used <\/span><\/span><\/span>as a studio for custom-made men’s and women’s shoes. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oliver Klein completed his studies in 2008<\/span><\/span><\/span> as a graduate industrial designer at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Wei\u00dfensee and in 2012 won the renowned BraunPrize, in the category “Global Winner” (1st Place). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2013 these two visionaries have devoted themselves fully to the development, production, and distribution of their\u00a0brand. Their vision,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>to create beautiful and durable shoes, is one which Oliver also sees as a kind of generational contract. Sustainability is important to him for <\/span><\/span><\/span>several<\/span><\/span><\/span> reasons \u2014 Lieblinge<\/em>‘s environmentally conscious means of production should set an example for the coming generations to build upon.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Leather is only available <\/span><\/span><\/span>to us<\/span><\/span><\/span> as long as<\/span><\/span><\/span> we eat meat. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Therefore, w<\/span><\/span><\/span>e should take advantage of it, <\/span><\/span><\/span>leaving<\/span><\/span><\/span> behind as little waste as possible…\u201d

Orthopedic shoe production meets contemporary design:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lieblinge<\/em> doesn’t only provide us with our favorite comfortable shoes. Oliver and Nadine Klein offer products with that “WOW” factor. Every detail is well thought out, both orthopedically and stylistically. With their children’s shoes, for example, there is very little shaping support added, because the feeling of walking in bare feet builds the foot muscles comprehensively, strengthens the sensory motor functions involved in walking, and helps to prevents any future misalignment within the framework of the foot.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span><\/span><\/span>he materials they use are given the same amount of consideration: the leathers and furs are treated as little as possible and <\/span><\/span><\/span>are<\/span><\/span><\/span> always chrome-free, the soles are manufactured from natural rubber without the use of pla<\/span><\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span><\/span>ticizers, and even the laces are eco-certified.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to children’s shoes and slippers for the home, Lieblinge<\/em> plans to unveil fashionable styles of desert boots for adults in the near future. Amazingy’s co-owner Floris van Onna bought a pair of Lieblinge<\/em> slippers for every <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>one of his <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>employee<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>s. Now we <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>don’t bring any dirt into the office <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>and we never have cold feet!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Since<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> the wet Berlin <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>autumn<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> is turning<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> into an even <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>colder<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Berlin <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>winter<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>we don\u2019t hesitate to slip our weathered feet into our cozy Lieblinge<\/em> slippers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
