Metallic eye makeup is gorgeous for parties and a staple during the holiday season, but could it become a daily go-to? I say yes \u2014 there’s no other time of year that’s quite so shimmer-appropriate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The winter 15\/16 runways are a good example. Mara Hoffman and Marchesa utilized bronze eyeshadow, Zac Posen showcased cool silver eyeliner, and Tadashi Shoii decorated lids with gold glitter. Not to forget Pat Mcgrath\u2019s recent Gold 001 product release. At first it might seem a bit intimidating, but metallics can be worn in many scenarios besides New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n

So why not gild your eyelids with the brightest gold? I recreated the looks I spotted on the runway on the lovely model Lucy \u2013 with her glowing skin and lips au naturel the metallic eye shadow turned out to be killer.<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> I started off by applying Prtty Peaushun<\/a> in the tone Deep Dark for additional moisture and to create that hot glow from within. For foundation, I used Sandar by ILIA<\/a>, which turned out to be a perfect color match for Lucy. This time I\u2019ve skipped using concealer completely, and instead used a tiny bit of ILIA’s Vivid Foundation in the tone Tanami<\/a>\u00a0on the middle of the face to add more depth, preventing a painted-on look.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> For the eyes, I mixed the loose shimmers Boogie Nights<\/a> and Gold Rush<\/a> from HIRO cosmetics<\/a>, and applied the mix with the HIRO All over Eye Brush<\/a>, all over the eyelid.
\nPro tip:<\/em> Make sure to use pressing motion when you\u2019re using loose pigments. Don\u2019t be scared of powder that ends up on your cheeks and such, just keep some Scotch tape on hand to remove lightly remove any bits of gold that escape your eyelid by lightly tapping them.<\/p>\n

If you are not the golden girl, you can choose any other shimmering shade from the HIRO collection. You can aim for the grey or silver tones or shades like High on Light<\/a> or Pearlized<\/a>, both ensuring an intense shine.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> To complete the radiance, we couldn\u2019t miss out on highlighter. The RMS Buriti Bronzer<\/a> is a great highlighter for deeper skin tones. It gives that same lovely sheen way that the Living Luminizer does for lighter types of skin.<\/p>\n

For Lucy\u2019s lashes, I used Kjaer Weis Mascara<\/a>, and opted to leave her lips bare and matte, ensuring her eyes get all the attention they deserve.
\nPro tip:<\/em> If your natural lip color is very pale, try filling your entire lip shape in with a lipstick two shades deeper than your own color.<\/p>\n
