Yeah Yeah Yeah: September!

In the early morning you can already smell autumn in the air; the sunshine looks different, her glow being more golden. You can spot the first yellow leaves here and there, and the evenings are getting a bit more chilly instead of being comfortably cool. Late summer melancholy. I’m loving it!

There’s always a bit of gloom accompanying these days, but at the same time you also start to look forward to those lazy weekends at home. If we’re being really honest here, I’d have to admit that there is always that sense of guilt about staying in when the sun is shining. Going out and experiencing as much as possible seems to be the motto for the summer months. Now that it’s getting a bit colder, we have the perfect excuse (and of course the prerequisites) for lazy September hours.

First things first; brewing a nice hot cup of tea is the perfect beginning for a beauty evening indoors. Teatox is a new brand from Berlin Kreuzberg and has a great selection of teas in organic quality. There are teas for detoxification, sleepy time , and teas that aid with weight loss. I decided for ‘Pure Beauty’ this time, the mixture being advertised as being particularly effective for the skin. The tea has a very delicate smell and doesn’t taste one bit as a witchy herbal mix, as one would expect when reading all the ingredients. Far from it, as the mixture of herbs is dosed rather pleasantly.

To bring this evening to a whole new level of girly clichés, I had to try a facial mask as well. Not just any mask however, but one of the best smelling cleansing masks I have ever smeared on my face. This would be the Honey Mud, from May Lindstrom’s line of awesome products. To describe the experience, you have to imagine putting warm chocolaty honey pudding on your face. I kept the mask on for almost a whole hour, just because it felt so incredibly healing. After rinsing it off, my skin felt extremely relaxed, my pores being tightened, with an added rosy glow to top it off. A real find!

After doing a mask I continued pampering my skin with a well done facial oil massage. The massage is very beneficial to increase blood flow, and to relax facial muscles. I prefer the Organic Argan Oil from Kahina. It contains a lot of vitamin E, which works wonders when it comes to preventing and combating wrinkles.
To make sure that not only my skin benefits of this beauty evening but my hair as well, I tried the ‘Omega-9 mask’ from Rahua (which is pronounced as ra-wa ). The hair mask contains unique ingredients like Ungurahua oil and quinoa protein, and has an extremely regenerative effect on my curls, bringing back their natural shine. In addition, it made my hair feel soft again, and defined my natural curls to the max.

To have the perfect evening, I highly recommend turning on some nice tunes, curling up with a good book, or watching an old episode of Miss Marple. Oh what the heck, chocolate is absolutely allowed as well ladies. Enjoy those early fall evenings!
