Product Review: LUXSIT Shampoo + Conditioner

Whilst looking for a new shampoo, I stumbled upon Luxsit. It smells deliciously like mint and, personally, anything containing the aroma of mint automatically wins a place on my shortlist of favorite products.
Luxsit was a stranger to me until now. The brand was founded in 2007 in Nacka, Sweden. It combines biomedicine with traditional herbal medicine. The plant extracts used for the Luxsit products are grown mainly in the north of Sweden under exclusively bio-organic conditions.

My mop: I wear my hair in a short bob. My hair is smooth, relatively fine, and slightly oily. Since I started wearing it short again, I tend to fuss with it more than before.

I shampoo my hair every second day and, sometimes, I even end up going a third day without washing. Those lazy days are the times that I stick a bunch of bobby pins in my hairdo, or use dry shampoo, or, perhaps, I even add a hat into the mix.

The products

The Enlight shampoo is made for normal to oily hair, which makes it the perfect fit for me. It contains extracts of protective oats, mineral-rich seaweed and soothing nettle. Peppermint and rosemary are the perfuming ingredients.
I also got my hands on the Balance Voluminizing conditioner. I’m not a big fan of conditioners, since my fine hair tends to get weighed down by using styling products. This one, however, is specifically created for the finer types of hair and keeps its promise of volume and improved manageability.

First application: Friday – Shampoo + Conditioner:

The shampoo smells delicious and lathers well. If you’re not overdoing it like I did the first time, none of the foam will end up in your eyes. It was a direct flashback to my younger years: ‘Mommy, mommy, the shampoo is burning my eyes!’ The guilty culprit of my burning eyes turned out to be the essential mint oil. Fortunately, the burning stopped quickly.

The conditioner was very fluid, so be warned when you hold the bottle upside down. It looks a bit like oat milk, and smells like cereal; a healthy breakfast for the hair.
Normally, I don’t bother blow-drying my hair. I only do it during the winter time, and even then just very briefly to let it dry.

After using the Luxsit conditioner, I immediately noticed how soft, fluffy, and voluminous my hair looked at the roots. No knots were to be found either; all I had to do was comb through it with my fingers. The conditioner did what it promised to do.

Second application: Sunday – shampoo only:

This time I only used the shampoo. Without the added conditioner, it was a bit harder to comb through my hair afterwards. Nevertheless, my hair still ended up feeling wonderfully soft with an added bonus of a healthy sheen.
Although I just lounged around in bed because of a nasty cold, my hair stayed incredibly soft. Best part of all – not even the roots felt greasy. It’s safe to say that even under ‘harsh conditions’, my hair got through it with flying colors.

That means: If you’re looking for a new shampoo that uses organic ingredients – I can whole-heartedly recommend the shampoo + conditioner from Luxsit.
