One Week with The Amazingy Rose Quartz Roller

Admittedly, when I first held the Rose Quartz Roller in my hands, it reminded me of an accessory that one would use in a horse stable… Both the first and last time I saw a stirrup was when I was 13 — when I thought I had to look for “Earth’s luck” on the backs of horses (in German, we say “das Glück der Erde liegt auf dem Rücken der Pferde”). Though, as it turned out by the end of that riding lesson, I wouldn’t dare to look for that luck even if I could find it by caressing the nose of a pony.

Now I’m back from the flashback (and the horse stable is once again just a far-off memory) in the Amazingy office, and I grab the Rose Quartz Roller and put it in my pocket so that I can photograph it in the evening to market it on our online shop. I photograph that stirrup-looking, millennial pink apparatus from each & every angle until I can only think: I have to try it now! (Mostly because I swear by facial massages and have already spoken on this topic in detail on my blog.)

Night 1

I hurry to the bathroom, cleanse my face (with the same amount of enthusiasm I’d once lost in those stables), put on some serum and start rolling. The stone has a pleasantly cooling effect — in direct contrast to the pleasantly warm tiredness that I am confronted with. I consider for a moment whether it really makes sense to wake my mind now, because even though it’s Friday night and

I would be ready to go out after the cool refreshment of this facial roller, my evening schedule is limited to Netflix and perhaps a book or two (which I will try to read at the same time and most likely fail at doing). But the cooling stone, in conjunction with the massage, noticeably stimulates blood circulation in the skin, so that’s a big plus. And as an added effect, it adapts to my body temperature after a short time, thus sealing my evening plans once and for all.

Oh, and by the way, my beauty routine only runs in the evening, when my daughter is fast asleep.

Night 2

I start using the roller until, after a rather long minute in front of the mirror, I remember that I could just relocate to the couch and roll myself into relaxation in a much more relaxing position. Once there, I decide on Amazon Prime this time — a series called Transparent. I start to use the facial roller on my forehead, temples and eyebrows, and I immediately feel a sense of total relaxation in the body. How was the Transparent episode, you ask? I have no idea.

Night 3

When I checked in the morning, my complexion actually looked a bit more balanced — which is why I was particularly looking forward to the rolling. However, I suddenly hear my daughter (who should be sleep already), and for the rest of the evening everything rolls in the apartment — everything except for the Rose Quartz Roller on my face.

Night 4

Today, I’m rolling a bit harder to train my facial muscles (and because I’m still feeling somewhat guilty from the third night). I imagine it has a similar effect as that weird, electric abdominal exercise belt that they would always show on every home shopping channel. Do you know what I mean, though? As if the abdominal muscles can be tightened by mere pressure — anyway, let’s move on to the next night…

Night 5

I use the roller on the couch again, this time testing whether or not pizza can be consumed simultaneously. It works surprisingly well… It almost feels like a double massage, you know, because pizza massages the soul.

Night 6

The rolling is slowly becoming a ritual and a great metaphor for concluding the day: just roll everything away! Today I’m doing a little lymphatic drainage with the roller, hoping to roll out the slices of pizza from last night so that I can make more space for something else — probably something with Matcha.

Night 7

My last evening of the Rose Quartz Roller test run becomes the first evening of an updated beauty routine.

Do you use Face Rollers? How about Gua Sha? What should we try next?
