There are countless beauty related tips and DIY tricks floating around on the world wide web, all promising to offer a solution to whatever beauty problem you can think of. At Amazingy, we’re getting to the root of one of those beauty secrets every month, trying to find a good answer to the question: Will this really help? Some home remedies are a great replacement to overpriced beauty products, but others can do much more harm than good. We’re on a mission to tell you which is which!
We’ve all heard those sweet-sounding promises: ‘Goodbye cellulite! Visible results after X amount of days!’ Can it really be that simple? Can any cream just ‘cream away’ cellulite?
Unfortunately, getting rid of cellulite is not quite as easy as advertisements lead you to believe. There have been numerous consumer tests done over the years researching the effectiveness of different types and brands of cellulite creams. The results were sobering: Not one product proved to be effective against those annoying dimples.
No need to despair though: Cellulite is a skin condition after all, not a disease! The most effective methods to achieve any kind of improvement are regular exercise, a balanced and healthy diet, as well as massages and showers. These methods will aid your skin to be better supplied with blood and with forming new muscle cells. The result: muscle cells will replace the fat cells and the skin’s appearance improves.
Other supportive measures are for instance seaweed baths (eg Mungo Murphy’s Seaweed Co.). These stimulate (among other things) blood circulation and detoxify the body. Salt scrubs can also improve your skins appearance and can be easily made at home:
Stimulating Cellulite Scrub Mix 1-2 tbsp sea salt with just a bit of almond oil (eg BalmBalm). You can also add a few drops of essential oil for a delicious scent, and your very own sea salt scrub is ready to be rubbed on.
